Maulana Jalaluddin Balkhi Rumi was born in Balkh (Afghanistan) in September 29, A.D. or 6th Rai'u-'l-avval A.H. to a family of master Afghan theologians in Balkh in the north-eastern provinces of present day Afghanistan.
